Influenced by pop and electro music, LUMA is the 3rd album of Tom Ibarra. Tom wanted to present 9 titles that would sound not only smooth but also powerful and energetic. French guitarist and composer Tom Ibarra is only 18 years old but he’s already released two albums and shared the stage with music heavyweights like Marcus Miller. Last year, the prodigy beat over 270 young musicians from across Europe to win the inaugural LetterOne Rising Stars Jazz Award thanks to his jazz-funk-rock fusion.
Tom Ibarra continues to enrich his musicality with the youthful passion and drive of an 18 year old. Already well-known, having won copious music competitions, including winning the inaugural “LetterOne ‘RISING STARS’ Jazz Award”. 2018 promises to be a busy year for Tom.
Tom Ibarra est un jeune guitariste de jazz aux accents funk et fusion au début de carrière fulgurant. Il sort son premier disque, “15”, à 15 ans, en 2015… Il en a aujourd’hui 18 et publie le très attendu “Sparkling”.
Le 6 décembre, il a remporté le « LetterOne Rising Stars Jazz Award 2017 » (Londres), sortie du 2e album « Sparkling » le 25 janvier, concerts aux Disquaires (Paris) le 9 janvier, le 16 mars au Rocher de Palmer (Bordeaux), le 17 juillet il fera la première partie de Marcus Miller à Jazz Open (Stuttgart).
